(Katie Morrison / MassLive) MassLive is looking for freelance photographers to cover local high school proms this spring and other events. Applicants will have at least 1-3 years professional experience with event or wedding photography. Ideal candidates will be outgoing, organized self-starters who work well on a deadline. Proms will take place evenings throughout Western and Central Mass. Peak time is the month of May and early June, most events occurring on weekends with some weekdays closer to the end the season. Photographers will be scheduled and assigned for shoots according to their available dates. A reliable car and valid driver’s license are required. Photographers must have their own cameras, lenses, off-camera flash, computer and photo editing software. Here is a good example of a prom photo gallery our photographers are asked to produce. The position pays a competitive rate with opportunity for additional pay based on some travel circumstances, which will be outlined by the hiring manager. Finalists for the position will be asked to attend a mandatory training session to learn how to upload photos and create galleries in our Content Management System.
